I strive to provide state-of-the-art psychiatric care that combines a collaborative, warm approach with the most effective practices in mental health treatment.
I am a board certified adult psychiatrist who sees patients in private practice in the San Francisco Peninsula Bay Area. I provide psychotherapy, medication management, executive function skills coaching, and consultations. I am a California native who has also lived on the East Coast, in the Midwest, and abroad, and I am inspired by the healing power of human connection.
By integrating psychotherapy, medication and skill building, I help address my patients' needs from many angles. Each approach builds on the others, creating cycles of positive change. I focus on helping my clients find relief from anxiety, depression, inattention, and painful life events. Common therapy goals are to help with a life transition, improve relationships, change maladaptive patterns, or deepen personal understanding. Many of my clients are young adults adapting to life in/after college, raising a family, or juggling challenging careers. Compassionate, empowering care truly can help.
My psychiatry residency training was at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where I served as chief resident of ambulatory services. I went to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. In both medical school and residency, I helped build curricula for cultural psychiatry. I also completed the master psychopharmacology program at the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI). Prior to medical school, I completed a research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) at Harvard Medical School in hand and upper extremity surgery, where I studied the complex interplay between psychological characteristics and upper extremity health. My undergraduate studies were at Dartmouth College, where I double majored in philosophy and psychology. At Dartmouth I graduated phi beta kappa, magna cum laude, and with high honors in psychology for my thesis on the impact of PTSD, trauma and depression on recovery from injuries.
I see patients in person in downtown Menlo Park, as well as virtually using Zoom for Healthcare.

My style is collaborative, thorough, and multifaceted. I get to know people. I care about them deeply and stay responsive and nimble as their needs progress over time. I believe it is a great privilege to be part of each person's care.
In addition to my medical training, I draw on my background in psychology, philosophy, and cultural studies to think deeply and holistically about each patient. Through this combination of scientific knowledge and humanity, people heal and grow.
Since I integrate therapy, medication and skills coaching, there are many tools for growth. This allows us to turn vicious cycles into positive cycles, build on gains in one area as we tackle the next, creating lasting progressive change. My treatment is informed by my training in psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, exposure response prevention (ERP), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and mindfulness. I also incorporate therapeutic lifestyle changes such as dietary modifications and exercise. I have experience with executive function coaching for individuals with ADHD and learning disabilities. For sleep-related concerns I have experience with interpersonal social rhythm therapy (IPSRT) for bipolar disorder and CBT-I for insomnia.
