Welcome. I am glad you are here.

Request a phone call

I am here to help. If you are interested in care, please follow the links on this page to contact me

If you would like to know what to expect about the process of starting care, below are some procedural details.

Step 1: Free Phone Call. To learn more about my services or schedule an appointment, please use the link on this page to complete the secure online phone consultation request. (You will be redirected to Simple Practice, the secure site used for the patient portal.) Please include a brief description of why you are seeking care and how you found me. We will then find a time for a free 15 minute phone call. If you do not see times that work, or you prefer not to use web forms, please feel free to call me instead.

Step 2: Assessment. At the end of our phone call,  we will decide whether to schedule a full assessment appointment (in person or by video). This first appointment is a 90-minute comprehensive evaluation of your current concerns, as well as the background context of your overall health and life experiences. Sometimes additional appointments, medical records, or further testing is indicated as we gather information. At the end of the assessment, we will reflect on the findings and recommendations, and decide together on the next steps.

Step 3: Treatment. After the assessment, we will create a plan together. Usually this means starting ongoing care in my practice, involving any combination of talk therapy, medication management, skill building, and coordination with other providers. If you came for a consultation or second opinion, and not for ongoing care, I will communicate findings and recommendations for you to use in your journey forward.

Disclaimer: Please note that that the first appointment is an assessment only, and does not guarantee the establishment of an ongoing patient-doctor relationship or future care. I want to ensure you are in the right treatment setting, and it is possible that I may not be the right fit.

Insurance: Please note I am an out of network provider. I do not contract with health insurance companies. This allows us to focus on your individual care needs, not on your policy's requirements. If you would like to use insurance with me, please check your out of network benefits. These vary widely, covering anywhere from 0-100% of the cost of care. I will provide you with written billing statements so you can submit claims to your insurance. If you are looking for an in-network provider, I absolutely understand, but I will not be the best match for you at this time.

Emergencies: Please do not use this form for emergencies. Instead, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital. For the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call or text 988, or chat online at https://988lifeline.org
